SeeSaw

SeeSaw

Seesaw is the latest release from Crooked Man aka Richard Barratt aka DJ Parrot- known in some circles as Sheffield’s grumpiest purveyor of leftfield dance music but to the wider world for his work with Roisin Murphy, his LP’s on DFA, as Earth Angel and a series of fine edits and productions on his vinyl only Bitter End Records.

Vicious Charm have released three single packages, each one different and unique. From dark and moody tracks for late night basements to light and breezy gems for the main room, Parrot always delivers with style.

Seesaw appears here in two parts; the first is a more dreamy vocal - as Test Pressing called it "a floaty banger”.  Part 2 is a sparser club working which is less a floaty banger, more a gentle - but catchy - breeze.

Midfield General  - aka Vicious Charm boss Damian Harris - gets proper stuck in with a deep, gently lolloping Generalisation Dub of Seesaw.  The in-house approach has already paid dividends with Damian's mixes for label mates JIM and Mystery Tiime both troubling end-of-year charts at the right end.

Completing the package is It’s My Pleasure Part 2 (Generalisation Edit) a tough early 90’s house dub. Part’s 1 & 4 appeared last year - Part 3 - a bleepy chugger - will be made public very soon.

Parrot's next LP, the third under the Crooked Man guise, will be released on Vicious Charm late in 2025.
